Due to the current impact of COVID-19 on our community, Masterworx Theater has postponed its production of The Sound of Music, currently scheduled to perform April 30, 2020 – May 3, 2020.

The public performances of The Sound of Music have been rescheduled to run Thursday, August 20, 2020 – Sunday, August 23, 2020, in the Warehouse Theatre at the Academy Center of the Arts.

Please note that your tickets will be automatically transferred to the new performance date.

The Academy and Masterworx Theater are committed to providing the utmost flexibility for our patrons, in light of the current situation. Ticketholders who are unable to attend the rescheduled date for this performance have the following options:

  • Donate your tickets to Masterworx Theater, and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value

  • Exchange your tickets for future credit towards upcoming performances and events presented by Masterworx Theater

  • Receive a full refund for the value of the tickets and associated fees

We strongly encourage patrons who are unable to attend the rescheduled date to consider turning the value of their tickets into a donation or exchanging tickets for account credit towards future Masterworx Theater productions during this fragile period. Members of our Arts community are facing uncertain times as we grapple with the impact of COVID-19, and many rely on ticket revenue as well as contributed support to sustain operations. Patrons who choose to donate their tickets or convert the value to account credit will help organizations like Masterworx Theater continue to fulfill their mission and sustain their organization during this time.

If you would like to donate the value of your tickets to Masterworx Theater, reach out to Meredith Whetsell, ACA Chief Development Officer by email, phone at (434) 528-3256 x117, or by replying to this email directly. If you would like to convert your tickets to account credit towards future Masterworx Theater performances and events, please contact the Box Office by email, or by phone at (434) 846-8499.

Should you be unable to attend the rescheduled date and not wish to donate or credit your ticket value, please contact the Academy Box Office Staff to facilitate a refund.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times and greatly look forward to seeing you at our venues when it’s safe to do so.

For additional questions, please call the Academy Center of the Arts Box Office, open 9AM – 5PM Monday through Friday by phone at (434) 846-8499.
